Funny Gene Simmons story today.....

Mats Sundin is arriving in Vancouver today after signing with the Canucks. So, a shitload of media were at the airport. Gene Simmons was getting of a plane and when he came out of the arrivals one of the camera men was setting up his white balance and such. Simmons came up to him and started talking to the camera about why he was in Vancouver and such. So, because it is the nature of cameramen when the other saw him doing this they just joined in the shot not wanting to miss whatever the hell it was. Then someone said, "There's Sundin!" And all the cameramen dumped Simmons and ran over to Sundin, leaving Gene wondering what the fuck was going on.
Classic!

It was shortly after the release of Runaway, in which he plays a truly evil fuck. My then-girlfriend and I had seen the movie, and she was terrified of him. I complimented him on his job in the movie, he thanked me, and she just continued to stare at him, sort of hiding behind me. Simmons could tell she was scared of him and obviously thought it was funny.

After he left she was practically shaking. She just looked at me and said "That man is the scariest human being alive."

As a gag gift I got her a copy of his solo album that year. She didn't think it was funny.

They have their priorities in order. :)
