If 2008 has taught me anything it's that...
everything and everyone dies.
Love dies. Dreams die, and they die hard. People die...one by one...and then you wonder who'll be next. 2008 for me was a year of dying dreams and people.
Good riddance to it.

4. I can empathise Elrond
Edited on Wed Dec-31-08 09:42 PM by socialdemocrat1981
That's been my life experience word for word for the past seven and a half years now. Dying dreams is something I have lived through almost everyday since mid-2001 and there's no end in sight. As for dying people, well that's something I can empathise with too. I'm sorry that has happened to you this year and you have all my thoughts, prayers and best wishes that 2009 will exceed your wildest expectations in terms of happiness and fulfilment of dreams:hug:

But I cannot condemn 2008 despite it being a very tough year for me personally. Because one dream for me came true this year that I never expected to. And that was that a certain Democratic Senator from Illinois defied the odds and made it to the White House, making and defying history in the process. For all my personal issues, even if I die tomorrow, I'm so thankful I lived to see it. Therefore I will always be thankful to 2008 for that reason -it gave me reason to hope again. And I hope it can give you some reason to hope too. May next year be better

Once again I'm sorry Elrond:hug:

10. I'm glad to hear it. You know what I found funny?
This is unrelated to Wall-e.
It's that you got a DUzy for your sigline 'gravity always wins'...which out of context is comedic.
But in context, I think you were referring to the Radiohead song 'fake plastic trees,' am i right?
and in context, it's not a funny line. it's quite sad. as the whole song is

12. I love that song too, along with many of their songs.
Did you know Thom was drunk when he recorded it, and cried like a baby when it was done?

16. Amen ...

Hallelujah.

Pass the salt.

This has been the worst year of my life since 1994, when my grandmother died. I won't miss it. I'd like very much to spread salt around the year's grave.
