to renew an expired Nebraska driver's license from abroad, especially when one's legal name has changed. x(

ETA: The ladies at the Nebraska DMV in Lincoln are _wonderful_ and super accommodating.

16. were you able to do it?

My Michigan license expired while I was in the UK, and there was no way to renew it by mail for some reason.... I had to wait until I was back in the US.

17. I am sure letting a license expire isn't as a big of a hassle as

letting a passport expire. getting a passport from scratch after Sept. 11, 2001 because I let mine from my navy days expire was NO FUN. :crazy:

MY CT license that i got in 2002 expires in 2010. I just checked because I got PARANOID after reading this post.:P

Not only is it totally unlike my Mother to let her tags expire, she didn't have proof of insurance with her in the car. If you knew my Mother, this would come as a shock to you.
