Slumdog Millionaire...

I saw this a couple of nights ago and thought it was a bit overrated. The first 2/3 of it was very, very good, but as soon as the story reached the character's adulthoods, I thought the movie took a decidedly conventional Hollywood turn.

I'll give it a B+. Has anyone else seen this movie?

1. Loved it... best of the year so far... will reserve judgement until I see the rest

of this year's Oscar movies.

This one will definitely be nominated.

I enjoyed the acting, cinematography and the fact the story had definite undertones of magical realism.

happen (almost supernatural/mythological) in a very realistic setting...

i.e. there is some Indian mythology in the background of this...

Additionally, it doesn't turn Hollywood at the end like the OP said, it turns Bollywood. The credits pick-up with a typical Bollywood dance number. This is part of the subversion/inversion of the typical Bollywood formula.
