Dragon cake!
I wonder how long it took to make this. Notice what's in the right claw. :D

3. Can you imagine having
to move that cake? I mean...even to move it six inches would be intimidating, considering what had to go into making it -- can you imagine actually transporting the thing?

:scared:

5. I'd be worried about the whole thing
and it'd probably want to split near the belly from all the weight...you know that thing weighs a ton. Maybe they move it frozen??

6. I'm lucky if I can get my little sheet cake out of the pan without breaking
Not only would this cake be intimidating to move, but HEAVY! :wow:

8. Other than the interior of the "cake"
the whole thing is probably made out of something called "fondant" and is pretty stiff once dried. That would also be how they would have a good surface to airbrush onto and make quad paper look real :)

Still, an amazing edible work of art! They should have entered it in a contest :D

Here's a recipe for rolled fondant: http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Rolled-Fondant/Detail.aspx

I remember making a kind of tootsieroll-like substance in pastry classes out of chocolate and invert sugar (a kind of sugar syrup.) We then made little grand pianos out of two different kinds of that substance. Can't remember if we called it fondant or not, but it was close in form, texture and workability :)
