Okay, I'm going in for my second Root Canal in th last three
weeks on Monday.

I take good care of my teeth, floss, brush and rinse my mouth out at least five times a day with listereen. (I have to. I do all kinds of inhalers and they tell you to rinse your mouth so as you minimize the amount of the stuff you swallow.)

The only good thing is I'm on my third Vicodyn Script. I get so silly when I take the drugs....

Oh well, only another Hour before I take the next little white pill...

2. Won't you be glad when all that fuss is over?
You have been through it with that tooth...

About time it got fixed, and permanently...

Hooray for Vicodins!

May the hour fly by!

4. Well, I saw Taylor Swift on SNL and the only thing I could think was
about the guy in the back ground thinking to himself I bought a Les Paul for this....

20. Ulcers? Have you had the antibiotic treatment for the germ that causes ulcers?
It takes two weeks.

11. I feel your pain!
I had a root canal this past Thursday. I have to go back this week so they can finish it up. I have had 3 root canals in the past 6 months - it is no fun!

The only thing that makes it somewhat bearable for me is to get the laughing gas and bring an MP3 player and listen to music. It kinda takes your mind off of things.

Good luck!

12. I've had 14 done
only two were necessary. The other 12? Undiagnosed Trigeminal Neuralgia (atypical, of course) I have a cranial nerve that fires off in my jaw. Feels just like a tooth needing a root canal every 28 days only in the fall and spring. And the next tooth to go was always next to the one that just went.

Are your teeth abscessing?

I couldn't sleep last night. The antibiocs give me headaches, so I am completely screwed up...

13. You needed to take Vicodin for a root canal? I've had one myself
Edited on Sun Jan-11-09 02:32 PM by veganbeatnik
as well as wisdom teeth extracted. I recall being in pain after the root canal, but I still went out to a poetry slam that night! And as for the wisdom teeth? My dentist prescribed Tylenol #3 (w/codeine) and it blew. I took Ibuprofen for my next 3 removals and was a lot better!

Edit: Oops, you are not the OP, but here's my message to you::hi:

17. If he has an absessed tooth (thus the need for the root canal), he absolutely needs it.
I've been there. The pain is excruciating beyond words.

18. I had one and it took my head off...Never, never have experienced that level of pain
and I was hit by a car, shattered my leg...

I tried OTC stuff and it couldn't touch it. I was out to dinner with my mom and downed a few wines...I had to! It was so freaking intense that it scared me. Know what's funny? I couldn't see my dentist because he was on vacation and so I spent that night just sitting with the waves of agony. In the morning, it went away. Just like that. I made sure to see my dentist Monday morning and set up an appointment ASAP, but I was almost tempted not to because it had disappeared. Whew, what an experience...Still, I never did take any of those heavy hitters. I just wouldn't want to get addicted.

24. There are people who specialize
in root canals. I went to a guy who does root canals eight hours a day. He fixed my tooth painlessly and quickly and then emptied my bank account.
