How to hallucinate with ping-pong balls and a radio.
The first thing to know is that the mind isn't a mirror, or even a passive observer of reality. Much of what we think of as being out there actually comes from in here, and is a byproduct of how the brain processes sensation. In recent years scientists have come up with a number of simple tricks that expose the artifice of our senses, so that we end up perceiving what we know isn't real - tweaking the cortex to produce something uncannily like hallucinations. Perhaps we hear the voice of someone who is no longer alive, or feel as if our nose is suddenly 3 feet long.

1. Nice article
Lots of weird stuff the mind does.

The pinocchio illusion seems a bit naughty.

The ping pong is like the sensory deprivation stuff that has been experimented with. It is also a way to make a person lose touch with reality, it is actually used for interrogation also. Read about a guy that created method for British, the method was a white noise fan in the background, one that has a repeating sound pattern, and people wearing loose fitting cloths and blind folded. Sensory deprivation can make people disoriented.

Source was discovery channel TV documentary actually.

(P.S. Is that ping pong ball thing when sleeping the same thing as when the black helicopters fly over and hit you with the microwave/em beam to make you think you are having a seizure?

Or is that something different? :tinfoilhat:

:shrug:

:tinfoilhat: They fly hear also. :tinfoilhat: "who said that?" hehe
)
