My laptop is plugged in to an outlet but it's not charging the battery. I've tried plugging in to different outlets, removing the battery and putting it back and nothing. Can a power supply just die in an instant? The computer's a year old.

1. Is there a "charging" light on the plug?
For my Mac, the plug glows orange until the battery is fully charged. Then it glows green. Is that what you have?

2. No light on the power supply (or inverter or whatever the hell it is)
The light for charging is on the computer next to the power light. Normally it's pink until the battery's charged then it turns blue.

usually the power supply box is warm when it's charging. Nothing now. Aristus, I can't afford to buy a new power supply. x(

7. Did you unplug from the wall, and shut down completely?
Oh man, you're in your hour of need, and I'm not a computer geek... :banghead:

See downthread. For whatever reason, it's working now. I tried everything for almost an hour before I posted.

3. It is certainly possible.
Find a reliable outlet, reconnect the three wire AC cord from the wall to the power supply and reconnect the cord from the power supply to your laptop.

I did that a dozen times before I posted and it didn't work. This time, it did. The light just came on. Whew! :) Thank you!
