Sunday breakfast/brunch....
I am having "arepitas" which are cornmeal fritters.



My grandmother made them better than anyone, and mine do pale in comparison, but they are tasty on a cold morning.

The cornmeal is cooked in milk with butter, a pinch of salt and sugar, and she always added about a tablespoon of anise seeds.

Once it is cooked, you form little fritters and fry them. Sometimes she would put cheese in the middle too!

YUMMY!

1. Just made a breakfast sandwich with smoked bacon and
sharp cheddar cheese and bakery bread. It's snowing (again), I'm warm, don't have to be anywhere...perfect Sunday! :-)

It's snowing again here too. I plan on having breakfast and then curling up in bed with the dogs and continuing with my "Northern Exposure" marathon.
