3. I've never been site-seeing in DC
I've flown into DC and worked in VA, but not had the chance to do the grand tour.

It's on my "Bucket List", though. :)

It is great to see the excitement. I felt it in Sept at an Obama Rally... multiple "hopegasms" all around.

:hi:

5. my brother used to work for several Congressmen over the years
and lived there for a while. We used to stop by on the way to the beaches in Delaware. The kids recently had a field trip there, and it was the first time I had been in years. It was so exciting to be there just after the election, and we saw Obama's motorcade!

Hope you get to see the sights at some point, the Lincoln and the Vietnam memorials alone are worth the trip. Very powerful. (plus I always imagine various X-files episodes that were filmed there! )

4. I fully expected Beyonce to over-emote the SSB/America the Beautiful

into a wretched, unrecognizable mess--but she gave them all the respect they deserved.

I remember singing "This Land" as a child--I've never enjoyed so much until now--the neighbors (all watching the rads/Eeagles) must have thought I was nuts but I don't care!

Now that that is settled--GO CARDS!

6. yeah, that was pretty good

I think her image used to get to me, but she's a decent singer.

It's odd, such an exciting weekend with the Steeler game (I live near Pittsburgh), a snow storm, MLK Day and the Inauguration all in a row! It's wonderfully exciting.

My son is watching the Cards- Eagles game, looking pretty good for your Cards! Nice gadget play from our ex-coordinator Ken Whisenhut from what I was told.

7. I like that they put in the anarchy verse
Edited on Sun Jan-18-09 04:45 PM by latebloomer
which you rarely hear-

As I was walking I saw a sign there
And on that sign it said "No Trespassing"
But on the other side it didn't say nothin
That side was made for you and me.

Cept they substituted "Private Property" for "No Trespassing.

8. GWB hung a metaphorical "no trespassing" sign on the White House as I see it.
What a GREAT song; I remember it as a child; I haven't really heard it since and it was so fun to sit at home and sing it out loud!

9. and the steeple verse
also rarely heard.
I've heard it done with both "no trespassing" and "private property."
