I'm trying to run Bit Torrent and I am getting a port forwarding error message.

I'm trying to run Bit Torrent and I am getting a port forwarding error message.
It is running very slowly and I'm wondering if this isn't why. I have tried to find how to correct this online and a couple of websites show me how but it is very confusing. I found a $29 software that says it will take care of port forwarding for me.

What should I do?

1. Do you have a router or wireless AP?
Firewall?

2. Yes but firewall doesn't make difference when I turn off or on.
It is a wireless router and the laptop I'm using has built in wireless.

4. Software claiming to do that for you is likely a scam
You need to open the manual for your router, and learn how to configure it.
