9. I regret that I haven't seen that yet,
and thus skipped right over it. What's odd is that he appeared in 2 productions of it, playing the same role, in 1950 and 1972.

12. The main reason I like it is because one of the shots shows them...
flying over the old Carswell AFB here in Fort Worth and it's kind of interesting to see the city back then.

24. Being a Republican in his day was considerably different than today
I think if Jimmy Stewart were alive today, he would have a hard time remaining a Republican.

The lawyer Stewart plays in this was supposedly based on Supreme Court Justice William O. Douglas. His courtroom scenes with George C. Scott are great.

and one of my top ten films of all time. Amazing, amazing work of art, and Hitch's masterpiece.

Destry Rides Again is beautiful, funny pure young Jimmy Stewart. And I like Winchester ''73, too, which gives us Jimmy Stewart after the war, when he is toughened, not so idealistic, more inclined to cynicism and quick-trigger anger. I guess that means I see him as a kind of classic Western hero. Oh, gee, I love all his movies.
