My kid sits around speaking Simlish out loud. To himself!

:wtf:

It's extremely disturbing to be sitting here, typing away, and then to suddenly hear Simlish coming from the direction of the next room. I mean, it's cool that he has such a good memory, and apparently likes foreign languages, but GEEZ. Simlish?? He even gets the inflections and context right! I'd type it out if I could understand what the heck he's saying.

x(

Other amusing/annoying things he says:

NUNCA! (When told that it's bedtime. Remind me NOT to let Rhythm teach him any more Spanish.)

Ma-ma-ma-ma-ma-ma-ma-ma-ma! MANRAY! (Spoofing SpongeBob. The kid is mental.)

The ENTIRE "I want a Shrubbery" scene from Holy Grail. I blame Oeditpus Rex for encouraging this.

Shouting POKEBALL, GOOOO! and knocking the dog in the head with his ball.

:banghead:

3. What's REALLY creepy is this:
the Simlish he's speaking is what Sims say when they're waving frantically at you because they're starving to death/exhausted/about to pee their pants/etc. He also speaks the phrase they use when they wave at you and complain because they're trapped somewhere and can't get out.

Frankly, I'm wondering what on earth LyricKid is DOING to those poor Sims, that he should know those particular phrases QUITE so well!

:scared:

12. Yeah, that is a little creepy.
My old roommate was a Sims addict and she used to do shit like that to her Sims all the time. She never understood why I found that creepy either, which creeped me out even more.

4. It's the made-up language that Sim people speak
in the PC game "The Sims" and "The Sims 2." LyricKid loves to play "The Sims 2," and we have it set up on our bedroom desktop computer so that he can play without messing with *my* heavily-modded and (ahem) occasionally inappropriate game on the laptop.

5. Gotcha.
I don't play computer games so this is completely out of my realm.

I only use my laptop for arguing with people on the series of tubes. :D

9. Bwah-hah! Wait till I tell him that.
He's in the "Eww Icky Girls" stage right now; speaking GIRL Simlish will be enough to make him let forth a VERY satisfying round of "EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!! MOOOOOOOOOM! THAT'S GROOOOOOOSSSSSSS!" exclamations.

14. I have an 8 year old
daughter and a nine year old son.

I would rather be with them than anyone else on the planet. My son has an amazing memory too... It's freakish how he remembers historical dates and how varied his interests are. My daughter is acerbic and sweet at the same time - :)

Here we are at the Renaissance faire this last summer -
