I hab a code.
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrahh! I'm having a home remedy extravaganza! I'm self-medicating with various nostrums and trying to think if there's anything I've left out.

Daytime:
Large doses of vitamin C
Zinc lozenges
Gypsy Cold Care tea

Night-time:
Pre-bed neti pot with a few drops of goldenseal thrown in
Pre-bed hot bath
Vicks vaporub on the feet
Nyquil
Melatonin for sleep aid

So far, I've definitely been sleeping pretty well. What other form of real and imagined cold remedies should I sample? :)

2. Oh yes, I love Dayquil.
I'm not sneezing so much, just sort of plugged up. I prefer that, actually -- the sneezing gets SO OLD after awhile.

everytime I go to another room. x(

I totally forgot about the vicks rub on the feet. That does work.

with Jack Daniel's.

The OJ will give you some vitamin C, and the JD will make you go to sleep. And sleep cures all.

5. Rum is a bit harsh to drink straight
Vodka would probably go down better

6. Rum would work just fine. Or vodka or gin. Anything over 40 proof.

7. be toob
:(

I guess standing out on the Mall for 6 hours in below freezing weather doesn't help your immune system much. :(

I'll try the neti pot thing tonight, but I'm also dosing up with OJ & Nyquil.

That & a bed loaded with blankets & kitties....I should be good to go in no time!

12. Awwww! Nasty isn't it? I'm just getting over one (I hope!). I stopped
taking the cold remedies because they seemed to push the cold from my head to my chest. I think you are doing just the right things but I would suggest adding the following to your nightly routine:

1 cup of very hot water
1 shot of whiskey
1 shot of lemon

I think this is called a "hot toddie". My Dad's recipe and it works on stomach aches too.

Mix and sip very slowly and inhale the vapours.

PS: You can do this in the morning too...you have a good excuse!

Get well :-)
