Ok, it is winter here, I wear boots. They are nice boots, warm, and dry, and have a secure footing on snow and ice...

they are made by the company Rocky. They make GREAT boots, very rugged, light, durable, and warm, full goretex bootie inside, etc..

they are technically hunting boots but they work so well everywhere else that I wear them.

Fyi, I have stood in a rushing stream in those boots, and as long as the water does not come up over the top, my feet were bone dry.

Getting back to your rejection - if you opened with a comment on her shoes, maybe she just locked on that and returned with her response in the same vein. Not really her reason, per se, but a handy excuse, without working too hard. Hey, at least you took a shot! I haven't hit on a girl for ages...

Maybe it's a thing with how my Dad was...I'm not sure. I didn't like to see awful looking shoes or dirty nails on a guy. Those seem okay. They're not trashy or worn longer than they should have been. In fact, they look practical which for me was important. Your shoes wouldn't have been a turn-off for me.

Maybe the girl saw these as a sign of your financial status. :shrug:

For the record, I'm married to a guy who owns practical shoes. :)

I have to admit that due to the ice/slush/snow/salt combo we had here a few days ago, the boots do have some cleaning required right now, but they are not at all beat up looking or so horribly dirty that they are unpresentable.

they are in fact, well broken in and supremely comfortable.

The only ones worth dating are the ones who take one look at those and say, "Hey, do those come in my size?" :P
