1. It depends...
Are we talking hash?

Magic mushrooms?

A big ticket consumer electronics device?

9. Sometimes all three
But, usually I plan my purchases pretty carefully.

Lots of people get buyers remorse when buying technology items, but the thing to realize there is they will ALWAYS get cheaper and better down the road. It's OK to feel buyers remorse because you bought something you didn't really need, but feeling that way because the next years model will be better and cheaper makes little sense.

4. It makes shopping interesting
A few years back I started transferring it to prepurchase. So I would go in and get the minimal necesities, plus a large number of contingent items which nearly always went back to their shelves before hitting the checkout.

5. Never. Mostly because I buy very little, and if I make a major purchase, I make sure it's the one I
really want.

8. same here
But I have been known to have attacks of buyers remorse after the purchase of a head of lettuce or a candybar. There seems to be something in the sheer act of purchase that does not sit well with me.

11. Yep. New jeans.
This "denim" -- thin, stretchy. When I want jeans, I want JEANS, not some thin stretchy fabric labeled "denim."

Bought them before we went to FL because I needed a new pair of jeans and this was all they had (the best fat women's store, no time to shop around). I wore them once. Then - subconsciously? - I left them in the dresser at the hotel. No more new "jeans."

These "jeans" just sucked, and I lost $30.
