You know you're in the 21st Century when,,,
You're driving a Prius, listening to your daughter's iPod on the sound system as she's calling her friend on her phone to tell her we're almost there to pick her up.

True story!

8. A swing has a place to plug in an iPod?
Did they have places to plug in record or tape players when we were kids?

4. I realized it when I was at my daughter's wedding 2 years ago
I was in St. Paul, MN, talking on my cell phone outside a hotel to my sister who was in Iraq. My cell phone service is in California, hers in DC but we were both just chatting away far from our homes and not tethered to any land line. Not only that, it was free because we use the same service.

That's when I realized how incredibly far technology has come. (I remember rotary dial phones and party lines)

7. Cell phones have a way of making my wife and me shake our heads with wonder.
Usually when we're traveling in a caravan and we can reach someone in the car ahead. What did we ever do without phones in our cars when we wanted to change plans even just a little bit. I guess we just didn't change plans even just a little bit.

6. When you watch a film made in the mid 90's and think
"Wow, those cell phones are really clumsy."

I was watch All The President's Men the other night. Manual typewriters, desk phones with cords, LPs, etc.
