AOL Users - email question
We're having problems with an ex-BIL sending everyone in the family his ranting emails. I know, first inclination is to delete, then block. But since we've spent $40,000 in legal bills dealing with this narcissist, we don't delete anything or block him because he's that unstable. Also, he runs his mouth and often tells us things he shouldn't.

My question, he sends emails from his AOL account. If I just move them to a folder marked psycho, can he tell if I've received the email? If I read one of his rants, can he tell I've opened the email? BTW, I do NOT have an aol email address.

Thanks...

1. He can only see if they have been opened
from another aol account. If he tries to see if you have opened it, it will say "you cannot check the status of internet mail".

3. Thank you
:)

We're keeping them in case they're needed but don't want to give him the satisfaction of thinking he's dragging us into his drama. We're just observers...

4. Unless he has it set for receipt return deal
no--and you would know that because on opening it, it would ask if you wanted to send the receipt.
BTW..folder marked psycho..I love it..:)

5. $40,000 in legal bills
you *know* there's a long, long story with that. I'm just glad my sister's in England, happily re-married and this loser can only torment us via email. He's scary.

6. But AOL doesnt have a return receipt option
at least not any version I have used, and I have had AOL since 1995. They do have an option of checking the status of ANY email sent, but it wont tell you the status of anything not sent to an AOL user.
