7. When I do things like that, I think about how I feel as a mother

My mom died when I was a teenager and for a long time I felt guilty about a lot of the things I'd done. Then I became a mother and I realized that my kids would have to do something really, really horrible for me to stop loving them or feel resentful of them. They're my kids. So I felt a little better.

You're your mom's kid. Of course you feel bad, but she isn't going to love you any less. :hug:
