I was mad when I said "agreed." and apologise for being harsh.

but...

I was in the middle of researching the best way for a broke arse hillbilly to file a "Motion for Appropriate Relief" to fix an error made by the DA over a speeding ticket. Evidently I better do this quick or I'll lose license and/or get hells of money added to my insurance premium.

One screw up in a simple thing hurts me right in the pocketbook. Bah, I actually cannot pay if it costs ANY money. That is, if I want to eat and not freeze to death in next month or two. So, chances are if I can't figure it out I'll have to drive to grocery illegally until I get caught and it costs more.

Then.. let me predict the future if I don't cipher it all out.. the judge will tell me in so many words that I should have known better than to drive to get food, goto work, volunteer, see grandson and should have just stayed at the house and died of starvation. Since I failed to allow myself to die he will assist me all he can this time by making it impossible for me to ever afford to drive again, so I exist as a blip until said death occurs.

Gawd.. my apology went awry.

The system sucks for me. Sorry about any collective damage anger may cause.

Yes, you are entitled to your opinion. There are, though, many good men and women in law enforcement who are honorable-- who truly put their lives on the line to try to make their neighborhoods, towns, or cities, safer. And, as far as attorneys go, I know attorneys - too - who help people in need. Don't really have an opinion about judges, one way or the other.

Gross generalizations usually just aren't fair. I didn't want to ignore your OP and appear like I agreed with you, Taverner.

i was reading a number of police forums after the BART shooting here in the Bay Area. there were a lot of officers on those boards, more than a majority i would say who were abhorred by the shooting.

I'm a lawyer (retired); my dad is one; my uncle is a judge; one of my best friends is a lawyer and another is a cop. I guess I should just go crawl in a cave and eat worms since I, my relatives and my friends do not deserve to keep company with decent people.

structure a major business contract, defend me against a malicious lawsuit, help me get redress from a corporation that has caused injury, look over my home-sale agreement, give me some advice on forcing my employer to obey the law, and ensure that I get a fair hearing at my upcoming criminal trial? After that, you can fuck off into that cave, you useless lawyer-scum!
