I dislike reality TV intensely, but I have an unapologetic, unabashed love of LA car chases. They completely fascinate me.

A co-worker of mine also not from the area described them as "one generatiom removed from the Okies", referring to their forebears who settled there and in central CA some years ago. Harsh, maybe, but I knew where she was coming from. Anyone who wants to know why poor white people vote Republican, work alongside these people. They buy into all the lies, fear, and racial baggage that goes with it. They get paid $10.00 an hour, but will tell you why taxes are bad because they "punish success". I asked them, "how the hell else are your wars going to get paid for?"

Glad I left that job, lol. My head hurt from banging it into the wall on a daily basis.

We used to shop at a market in nearby Little Rock called Charlie Brown Farms. They had nice produce, awesome candy, killer hot chocolates, and POGS, but when I visted after moving back to LA, I noticed all the confederate flag memorabilia. :scared:

I remember that we wouldn't go into the Walmart in Lancaster, only the one in Palmdale, because it was shady.

Channel 7 played some earlier footage where she was driving that truck around and over and through places it shouldn't oughta gone. :crazy:

San Diego is SOOOO BORING.

The chase that's cemented in my mind is the one where the dude put a banner on the freeway, tried to kill himself by setting ablaze to his car with him inside (killing the dog inside), but instead he escaped the car and shot himself. Oh god I remember the gush of blood :scared:.

I think I was in middle school when that chase happened.

I'm up in the bay area now and I miss the weekly car chases in L.A.
