I have to go to the grocery store and am out of ideas as to what I should feed my picky yet lovable spawn

*edit because 'shouls' is not a word!

just rinse, pat dry, season and bake!

I'm not a decent cook at all. I need detailed directions for everything or I will almost certainly fuck it up. :P

37. Yah. Ya know, I have a bag of Tater Tots in the Freezer,
some hamburg in the fridge, and I know there's an onion and a can of Campbell's Cream of Mushroom soup in the pantry. I believe I'll whip one of those hot dishes for tonight's supper.

Mighty tasty...and filling, too. Just the thing for a chilly Winter's night, I'd say.

A guy can't go far wrong eating a Tater Tot hot dish.

27. I'm making chicken and broccoli fettucine
Chicken breast sauteed in olive oil and lemon pepper seasoning
Bottled alfredo sauce (saves me a lot of time)
Frozen broccoli cooked
Cooked fettucine noodles

Toss it all together in a large pan, then add a little grated fresh nutmeg. Heat through stirring occasionally.

AAL's family eats it up - AALette calls it her favorite!

:hi:

28. Sadly, my children have pretty pedestrian taste buds
and won't eat any kind of casserole, food covered in a sauce or fish, so hence my daily struggle to decide what to make for dinner :P

31. Plain noodles, grilled chicken and steamed broccoli then?
When AALette was younger, she would deconstruct anything given to her.

Hot dog on bun? Ate the hot dog, then the bun.

S'mores? Ate the marshmallow, then chocolate, then grahams.

Grilled cheese? Dug out the cheese, then ate the bread.

It was hilarious to watch, she's a little better now!

:hi:

38. Well, until you mentioned spawn, I was going to suggest...
salmon fillets with sliced red bell peppers, mushrooms, and lemon. Probably not the best thing for picky spawn food, but it's what I'm having.

40. Fried taco's
At least thats what the friend who came up with the idea calls 'em

1 part sausage, either loose or skins removed
1-2 parts ground beef
enough peach salsa to just barely sauce the meat
shredded cheese
refried beans optional
flour tortillas

brown the meats, drain and combine (they don't cook at the same rate)

pour on just enough salsa

warm tortillas slightly

optionally spread a schmear of beans over the tortilla

spread 1/2 of the tortilla with a thin (1/4 in or less) but even layer of meat mix

sprinkle w/ cheese

fold in half

fry lightly on both sides in a tiny amount of butter

serve hot with a mild salad and maybe a dollop of sour cream
