12. That is the most "out of Steve Martin character" movie he's ever done.
"Here's a test. What's the difference between a pregnant woman and a light bulb?"

<silence from the D.A.>

"You can UNSCREW a light bulb! See? No sense of humor whatsoever."

That's one of my favorite movies ever.

Vincent 'Vinnie' Antonelli: You know, it's dangerous for you to be here in the frozen food section.
Shaldeen: Why is that?
Vincent 'Vinnie' Antonelli: Because you could melt all this stuff.

30. That's the awesome thing about him, he paired well with a LOT of people
after The Jerk.

I mean, John Candy, Rick Moranis, Dianne Wiest, Martin Short and Chevy Chase... and on and on...

Anyone who thinks that The Jerk was his best work is sadly short-sighted.

But I loved the hell out of "Bowfinger".

As for Leap of Faith, I thought he was miscast. When it comes to his dramas, I would choose "A Simple Twist of Fate".

Granted, I've not seen "Shopgirl".

40. I really liked Bowfinger too
That scene near the end when they were chasing down Eddie Murphy's character in the car had me laughing harder than I had evr laughed in a movie.

However, I really liked Martin's performance in Leap of Faith. I thought it was just the right mix of off-stage cynicism cobined with they physical presence that sideshow evangelists are known for. If you've ever seen Marjoe, I thought he did a fantastic job of capturing that kind of character.

I just thought there was something off about Martin's performance in "Leap of Faith". I wanted to like it. Hell, they filmed the darn thing in my town. Their limos used to drive right by be at the bus stop every morning. Just the same, I thought Bill Murray would have done a better job in Martin's role.
