Reasons I love having a two year old
Edited on Fri Feb-13-09 09:37 PM by mainegreen
Waking up to find a two year old has snuggled into your arms some time during the night and is currently snoring loudly.

"art projects", also known as lets make an explosion, daddy!

Being greeted when getting home from work with the most heartfelt enthusiasm that your home you've ever experienced in one's life, by a factor of 10, at least.

Not being allowed to feel old and creaky because it's jump up and down time!

I doesn't matter what I do, I'll get a 'good job daddy' complement.

I finally have someone who will willingly, and gladly, learn what I have to teach about the fine art of deep stomach belching.

It's cheaper than going to the gym, and more fun too.

He'll fetch me beer (s'true)

Secretly, I still love Dr Seuss, so I have an excuse to read it again.

Legos. Fun as an adult too!!!

And all the bizarre tidbits of wisdom two years olds can teach you that you would never realize yourself; such as 'smurfs are for cleaning your wee-wee!' I didn't know that, did you?

:D

1. not quite there, only 22 months
she is still in a crib, so she doesn't make it into our bed at night.

The cuddle factor is high, though. Daddy is her lounge chair. I love the running and diving leaps into my lap.

We are bringing her up speaking English and French, which is making me bilingual. She is passionately in love with Elmo, and all things Elmo.

She is the greatest dancer, to various and unrelated childrens songs, and music segues on NPR.

She is smart and happy and beautiful and healthy despite being born 10 weeks premature at 2 pounds 13 ounces. Now 33 inches and about 27 pounds of pure energy and happiness.
