I am sure they inflate the results by 5% for just completing the damn thing. Long test.

By the way, even though I have been known to snort when I laugh when I really get going, I did not select "snorted while laughing" on principle. I know many people who are not geeks who snort while they laugh -- and most of them are blood relations.

26. I'd have scored higher, but I'm allergic to animals
so I had to bypass all the pet questions. :-)

I was an engineer at one time, so that really helped boost the score, and I was heavily into roleplaying games and, of course, computers.

31. Sadly, I think I went down a couple percentage points
seems that last time it was 67%.

Though given the speen with which I go through the questions, I'd submit that a variance of +/- 3-4% is well within parameters. That's far less than an acceptable 1 sigma deviance. So perhaps I baseline more about 65%.

Kind of expected that. I started programming computers at 8 years old, can recite Trek storylines in my sleep, collect comic books, and read physics texts as a hobby (though I'm actually reading "Albert Einstein - Ideas And Opinions" at the moment...which isn't really physics related).

I guess I should be surprised that the number is so LOW!

A specialist in Tolkien's languages appeared in the supplementary materials on one of the Extended LOTR DVD's (probably Two Towers). Looking at his horn-rim glasses, earnest yet gawky face, slightly greasy hair, as he expounded on an incredibly abstruse subject--I thought "What a Geek!"

Then I realized--how many times had I watched this DVD? Why did I own the Theatrical edition as well? Why did I totally understand what he was talking about? Hadn't I read the trilogy in high school--and several times in the ensuing years--& hadn't I regretted losing those tattered paperbacks with the psychedelic covers? Hearing movies were being made, hadn't I re-read the trilogy with great joy & then leaped into The Silmarillion? Why had I then purchased several supplementary volumes on Tolkien & the movie productions? Would I ever discuss this online?

Time to fly the geek flag, boys & (especially) girls! Untidy Peter Jackson & untidy (though beautiful) Fran Walsh & the whole geeky gang just won 11 Academy Awards. Revenge of the Geeks, indeed.
