My annual appraisal, at work, will be tomorrow

They make us write a comment, if we want. Someone told me, when I was new, it's better to just leave it blank. And I always have.

Well, after 13 years, and being put through many annual appraisals, I am very tempted to write: "These annual appraisals are unnecessary, out-dated, and rather demoralizing. Most companies don't use them any longer and I don't feel we should, either."

What do you think? Do I dare? :shrug:

I doubt if it would change anything. Most companies I know of still use them. I turned in my self appraisal last week. I'll get my supervisor's appraisal next week. My wife's company does theirs in the early fall. My last company did them on your anniversary date.

2. we do them too and you're right, they are outdated

and don't mean a damn thing. I can get an awesome rating but I still won't get a raise because of the budget cuts. It's all to make the company and/or department(s) look good. utter b.s.
