Poll question: The single GREATEST Beatles solo album

No, I didn't put any Wings albums in the poll, or Concert for Bangladesh. They're not exactly Beatles solo albums, in the strictest sense of the word.

Also, a lot of people remember "Ringo" as Ringo's first album, mainly because his first album "Sentimental Journey" (which he described as "songs for my mum") and the second "Beaucoups of Blues" pretty much sank like rocks. "Ringo" really was his third.

Finally, John and Yoko were pretty adamant about "Double Fantasy" being a 50-50 split of John and Yoko songs, so maybe that's not really a solo album either, but what the hell.

1. POB by a hair.
Imagine and ATMP are right behind it.

2. John's first album is so incredibly powerful
It makes me want to get out my wife's DSM IV and try to analyze a pained and insecure John Lennon. Stunning, shocking, powerful, and it just makes you spent after listening to it. An incredible piece of art.

3. All Things Must Pass because Double Fantasy is not really
a solo album.

4. Although RAM is unrecognized genius (sorry Paul haters), I had to vote for George
And All things must pass

Not a single bad track on that album

8. Agree completely on Ram...
...there really is a lot more going on than he was initially given credit for.

9. Definitely - McCartney's best
Edited on Sat Feb-28-09 04:47 PM by Taverner
And unlike McCartney and Band on the Run, he did that one all on his own

(qualifier for McCartney - hey may have played all the instruments, but most of those songs were rejected Beatles songs)

10. In terms of his life at the time, it's one of his most interesting albums...
...the rampages with Harry Nilsson through L.A.'s bar scene, the "separation" from Yoko and his "new girlfriend" May Pang (personally selected by Yoko)...and that's just the beginning.

7. I voted Double Fantasy only because I still cry when I hear songs from that album
I was 13 when JL died and it was one of the major defining events of my youth.
