It's time we turn our backs on Billy Corgan.
He's become an embarrassment to the United States of America and those ideals that we hold most cherished. Many of you will ask, "Billy who?" and rightfully so, we must erase all vestiges of Corgan from our society so that we may begin anew in a Corganless world, free from his teenage angst ridden musings.

2. Okay, seriously Arcadian....do you really want to do this?
Edited on Tue Mar-03-09 02:32 PM by Tommy_Carcetti
I mean, really.

Cause I don't think the DU Lounge can afford more Nickleback or Creed. The blood was on your hands before for that. And so it shall be again.

Edit to add "Starla", just cause it rocks so much and helps to remove the shitstain that was the original post:

4. You and PeterU = 2 Punkin' fans.
I think the rest of us in the Lounge will agree, there is no place for them in the new utopia that we hope to forge in the post-collapse society.

8. Who is this PeterU that you speak of?
Although clearly he has far superior musical tastes than you do.

7. 1993 called. It wants its idea back
We should've nuked this crybaby from orbit a decade and a half ago.

12. ...if it hadn't been done better by Queen 20+ years before
Smashing Punkins == REO Speedwagon. Steve Albini was right.

13. Please. Don't bother comparing SP to some glam shit out of the 1970s.

14. Yeah, the glam shit is a brazillian times better
Slade > Mott The Hoople > Sweet > Queen > a festering boil in need of lancing > Billy Corgan's whiny emo ass.

15. Wait a minute,
did you just torch Queen AND Billy Corgan in one smooth, fluid, motion?

If so, I am impressed by your efficiency. :patriot:

21. Because SP was a immeasurable influence on the Clash, The Pistols, and UK punk.
The fact that you have no clue about Mott and their influence just proves you don't know what you're talking about.

20. Because SP would be nowhere without 70s glam
Ask Billy, and he'd tell you himself. He secretly wishes he was Paul Stanley.

18. Sorry, but nothing Queen ever did was like Gish
And Gish is nothing like anything REO ever did.

I take it you've never heard anything by any of those groups.

19. Unfortunately, I have. BOTH of them.
Smashee Punkee is a piss-poor arena rock band masquerading as "alternative", and is about as "alternative" as REO Speedwagon was in the 1980s. Both bands sounds perfectly pleasant being blasted out of dorm windows on a spring day, but are quite vapid and useless as far as music goes. Billy Corgan either wants to be Ted Nugent but he's too big a pussy, so he's settling for a less talented and less interesting Freddy Mercury.

Oh, and BTW: Gish == Shite. It's "alternative" for people who think Urge Overkill are clever.

26. I look back fondly on his music
Unlike some artists, he's not what he once was, but he was 90s alternative at its finest.
