10. My grandpa, my uncle
and to add one more not already listed:

Lieutenant General Lewis Burwell "Chesty" Puller (June 26, 1898 – October 11, 1971) was an officer in the United States Marine Corps and the only Marine to receive five Navy Crosses, the United States Navy's second highest decoration after the Medal of Honor. During his career, he fought guerrillas in Haiti and Nicaragua, and participated in some of the bloodiest battles of World War II and the Korean War. Puller retired from the Marine Corps in 1955, spending the rest of his life in Virginia.

25. CPL Trent Stover
Edited on Thu Mar-05-09 01:50 AM by Rhythm
One of my best friends in high school... had originally planned to join the Navy, but another friends talked him into buddying-up and going to Parris Island together. Trent's buddy washed-out after assaulting a DI, but Trent graduated top-3 in his company.

In August of '86, CPL Stover, along with 7 others from his platoon, died when the Blackhawk helicopter they were being transported in crashed off the coast of Norway while on a training exercise.

On any occasion when i see someone in Dress Blues, i think of Trent. Guess you could say i miss him just a little.

No such thing as an ex-marine; you can always count on them to deliver a good performance.
