I have 60,000 ebooks on my hard drive
Some are dupes (lit, pdb, pdf, txt). Some are purchased; others are public domain. I figure it's three books a day for fifty years so I'd better get cracking.

2. You're all set for when a storm knocks out the cable.
Nice to have some backup entertainment.

3. Excellent! I have only two words of advice to you: Burn them.
To DVD that is. Or at least back them up to some other medium off your hard drive. If your hard drive fails, that's byebye 60k ebooks.

Enjoy your collection!

Mark.

7. No DVD burner
but I have an external hard drive that I use for backup. And a buddy of mine has most everything duped as well.

9. That's good enough... especially having the buddy with the backup.
If a disaster strikes your home (e.g. fire), your hard drive plus your external may go byebye together. But your buddy may well be OK and you get your files back.

11. Yeah, my ultimate plan is to get a second external drive
and rotate them through the safe deposit box at the bank.

Have you got any Robin Hood books?

I'll be your bestest buddy for life if you share those with me. :D

6. Do you have any books about John Quincy Adams?
If so, don't tell me. Cause I fucking hate John Quincy Adams.

10. Back 'em up!
All hard drives die; it's just a matter of time.

They seldom give you a warning first.

My last backup was done in August and my 'puter died in January (or was it February?)

And I am very grateful that I did back up even though it wasn't as recent as I would have liked.
