10 toxic things you should never, ever attempt to discuss over the internet.

Don't do it. You may want to do it, but don't do it. You may think you are among friends, but you only think that because you have not brought up any of these topics yet. Tempers will flare. Nothing good will come of it.

1. Home schooling. This one combines the explosive issue of child-rearing with religion and stay-at-home versus work-outside-the-home parents. Always a delicious stew of vitriol. Wait for the moment when someone brings up that girl who spelled "euonym" to win the National Spelling Bee.

2. Bikes versus cars versus pedestrians. In this discussion, every car is that one that opened its door and almost clobbered you while you were ferrying a basket of native prairie grasses for replanting in an urban greenway, and every bike-rider is that one that swerved in front of you while giving you the finger and wearing a T-shirt that says "Anarchy." Eventually, someone will wish broken bones upon someone else, and it's all downhill from there.

3. Chiropractors. People with bad backs can be extremely cranky. Alternative medicine in general is a dangerous area, but for some reason, clashes between people who consider chiropractors to be miracle workers and people who consider them the equivalent of head-bump readers always sets off the fire alarms.

In all honesty, I've had friends over the years who were in unbearable amounts of pain that was only relieved by a chiropractor.

My own experience wasn't as positive, but I'm all for situations where a person gets to live their lives free of pain.

9. Rattlesnake venom is an anticoagulant that can kill a person within hours of a bite.

10. cyanide is a white poweder that emits a colorless, orderless gas except to those people who have the "cyanide gene." Such persons perceive the gas as a bitter almond smell.

Anybody with any nominal sense of intelligence knows that Mac is far superior to PC. To believe otherwise is simply idiotic and brain dead.

A nice toy, fun to play with and it'll play DVDs, CDs, MP3s while surfing the internet...but at the end of the day, it's a toy.

It's a more powerful toy. It is a more secure toy. It is a more reliable toy. It is a better looking toy. It is a more effective toy.

I haven't owned a factory-build desktop PC in 10 years though (my laptop is, but I only use it to compose).

not just sit around and increase the rooms smugness factor.

I'd daren't do that with my computer.

Besides more and more computers are running Linux these days. Think DVD players, mobile phones, other devices... not just desktop PCs.
