Cat Physics 2
Edited on Tue Mar-10-09 07:32 PM by The Velveteen Ocelot
So yesterday I concluded cats are liquid, as evidenced by their ability to assume the shape of a container. Last night I made another discovery relating to the state(s) of matter of cats, which is this: Although cats are liquids most of the time (and at all times when they are conscious), at night when they sleep -- but only when they sleep in your bed with you -- they assume a state somewhat similar to a black hole. That is, they become extremely dense and extremely heavy, with the result that if at least one cat is on you or next to you, you are pinned down and unable to move. An ordinary 10-lb. cat will weigh at least 400 lbs. when it is sleeping on your bed. As soon as the cat wakes up, however, it resumes its normal liquid state.

3. I agree and I must make one more observation
The moment a cat leaps up to land on the bed, they gain weight and mass so a 11 pound cat feels like a twenty on bowling ball landing....

4. At least they're willing to share the bed with us! As the joke goes, the cat's half of
the bed is the middle.

5. This would explain a lot.
I've always had to resort to Dr. Whovian physics to explain why a five pound cat occupies more space on the bed than a thirty pound dog.

6. They seem to grow to enormous sizes in bed also.
