Cat-lovers, today is a special day for you.

It's not just St. Patrick's Day, but the feast day of some other saints, including St. Gertrude of Nivelles, the Patron Saint of Cat-Lovers. I didn't even know there was one, did you?

So give yourself and your cat(s) a special treat today. :hi:

8. Didn't I see them in different poses in another thread?

Maybe you just hadn't added the green ribbon when you took those.

3. It was a special day for Shamu.
Edited on Tue Mar-17-09 06:00 PM by Critters2
I have a door that sometimes doesn't latch closed, and will open if there's a strong wind. When I got up this morning, it was open, about 6 or 7 inches. I pushed it closed, and went about my business. As I got ready to leave, I realized I hadn't seen Shamu all morning, not even at feeding time! THAT is not right! I figured he'd gotten out, and was panicked because he's never been an outdoor cat.

So, I go out the front door and round the corner toward the door that was open. And there he was, pushing on the door, trying to open it. So funny! "I know this is how I came out." When I said, "What's goin' on, Shamu cat?", he came bouncing right over to me (he has a mild disability in his hind legs, which causes him to bounce rather than run). He nearly jumped into my arms, and hung on tight while we came back inside.

I think he's had enough of a special day, thanks. Or maybe I should thank St. Gertrude.

Thanks, St. Trudy! :hi:

5. The patron saint of cats is God Dammit
Any cat owner invokes the sacred name of the Patron Saint of Cats on a frequent basis.

"God Dammit, quit eating the fern!"

"God Dammit, get off the refrigerator!"

"God Dammit, if you can't stop falling off the door quit sleeping on top of it!"

19. That's the Christian version.
I'm Pagan, so when I call them "Little Bastards," I'm just calling them what they are: the "special needs" children of the Egyptian cat goddess. :D

17. when was the last time s/he went to the vet's?
Sometimes they do it b/c they have a health issue, sometimes they do it because there has been a change in routine, a change in the kind of litter you use, someone new (animal or human) in the house...

Probably your cat isn't doing it just for the hell of it. If nothing is new in your home, take your kitty to the vet.

I would make an appointment for the vet; this could be a medical issue.
