I bought the Deluxe Edition of "Live at Leeds" over the weekend
Edited on Mon Mar-08-04 04:06 PM by bif
For some reason, I've never owned a copy of the album. It's remastered adn remixed and sounds incredible. What an album. The original was something like 40 minutes long. This double cd has over 2 hours of music on it! What a great bloody recording!

2. I'm not into nastalgia
And don't listen to any 60s and early 70s rock. but boy, listening to this disc sure brought back memories. Growing up, my next door neighbor had it and use to play it over and over. Sadly, he commited suicide about 20 years ago.

4. Great CD
If you haven't got the extended Odds and Sods cd, I recommend that too. Twice as many songs. Lots of R&B stuff.

5. Lucky you bif
I've got that on my 'to buy' list.

Some of the user reviews at Yahoo shopping Music rate it as one the top live albums ever. One of the others is Made in Japan by Deep Purple, which I found to be surprisingly good when I bought it a while ago.

6. It kicks ass
I'd say, if you only bought one Who album, this is the one. I can't imagine more energy being generated on stage.

8. i'm of the opinion
that Deep Purple are not aging too badly, I think i enjoy them more now than when I was younger.

The Machine Head now double CD which has been re-mastered, re-edited, re-everthinged, is another goodie.

Sensational Alex Harvey Band, 'Next', has not aged too badly either, especially the 'Faith Healer' track.

11. Yes but..
The original 1969 album came with all sorts of concert paraphenalia - copies of ticket stubs, flyer, etc. a great little package.

What took it so long to be on CD?

12. They're released it a couple different timmes on CD
The first time was the same as the LP. The second was an extended version--over an hour long. This is at least the third time it's been issued on disc.

9. album
It's totally awesome! I recall reading a long time ago that Rolling Stone named the album (orig. version) the greatest bass guitar album of all time - Entwhistle (sp?) was the man!
