I definately have an "issue" about books.

I'm packing away my books until my new house is ready (and to help declutter this one to sell). So far, I've filled 11 UHaul book boxes and I need at least four more to finish. In comparison, STBE filled only 9. I'm sure I have more books hidden around the house somewhere too. I haven't even started on the kids' books, but at least those will be divided among the two houses.

But it is interesting to note that still 96% of the shit in this house and garage isn't mine.

ETA: I don't have any bookshelves in my new house.

1. Too many books?
I fail to see the problem...

4. Of course YOU would say that.
11+ boxes of books is nothing to you.

I just need a place to put them eventually.

2. I'd worry more if you did NOT have tons of books around.
Reading truly is the best thing a person can do with their spare time. I am a firm believer in reading. Keep your books. Books are precious.

5. I found some to donate
but the majority I'm keeping. They are like old friends to me.

3. I don't even want to think about how many U-Haul boxes I could fill with my book collection.
It will be a nightmare when I move out of here.

6. I think the majority of my storage pods will be filled with books.
Not that there is anything wrong with that. ;)

7. When I get some scrilla
I am going to go get some BIG Ikea bookshelves.

Several of them.

If the fire marshal saw the shop, he'd have it condemned. :scared:

8. Book Addict Here
You can't believe the mess I have in my house.

I had a situation where I had no choice but to get rid of half the books I owned in order to move very quickly, and that was about 300 books, and that was ten years ago.

Now I have a house and a storage unit, and not only tons of books but duplicates of books, and signed books, and boxes filled with signed first editions, and you name it.

It is a nightmare.

15. One of the few things I took in my divorce were my books and my music
I had to move them all again last September when I finally bought a new place after three years at my post-divorce apartment.

Many of my books are still in the dozen boxes I put them in when I packed them last fall.

You don't have too many books. :D

... I still haven't unpacked all of my boxes of books because there's no dang room for them. Every wall has a bookshelf already, and they're all full. :P
