Vibes for Lelapin (LadyOfTheRabbits)
Edited on Tue Mar-24-09 01:00 PM by lizziegrace
She's got what I have. I was hoping that the virus got me because I was so exhausted and my immune system was shot. Not that lucky. She started coming down with it last night and today has all the symptoms. :-(

She took my laundry to her apartment to wash and has to work tonight. Also, friend she hasn't seen in a few years is flying in for break. Timing couldn't be worse.

Poor Lelapin... x(

2. She is amazing
and the more time I've spent with her, the more I see. I couldn't have gotten through my lost weekend without her. She's still worried about me - sending texts to see if I'm okay.

If I don't do anything else right in my life, I've already done the best. :)

3. From what I've seen, you should be quite proud.
As another parent whose greatest achievement has been his children. :)

5. Better what?
Achievement? No. Kid? Well, I think mine edge yours, but I'm not objective on that. Yours is the cream of the crop.

And might I add that more than a couple of DUers would say yours had a great example to follow. :P

12. Meh
It's never taken me this long to recover. Lung capacity is still way too low. This shows how rundown I was, how wicked this virus is and how my age is catching up with me.

The change is good. The house is wonderful, the cats have settled down and I can't wait to move forward. One thing at a time though. ;)

13. Just take it slow and easy...
I've noticed that my minor asthma is getting harder to control, the older I get. We both need to stay on top of things. I wish you all the luck in the world on your endeavor. I'm glad you're closer to your daughter now. Please, take care!:pals:

14. You're so kind
thank you.

I think age is definitely a factor in the severity of symptoms. The EMT who rode in the back of the squad said that her asthma is worsening as she gets older too. Scary stuff. All the more reason for me to get it together.

I know the news eases your heart, as it does mine.

Just knowing, good or bad, saves the wasted energies that come from speculation.

Sleep well and hug Lelapin for me.

And scritch the cats kthnx. :D

29. I'm getting better - very, very slowly
I'm sure the numbers I can't get aren't good (O2 saturation and heart rate) and my peak flows are still 250-350, depending on the time of day and most recent breathing treatment.

But, I'm better than yesterday and that's what matters. :) This old dog needs to slow down a bit. x(

Never in 46 years of being an asthmatic have I ever come so close to a complete crash. Scared the hell out of me, and my daughter. I still don't really know how it got away from me so quickly and completely. :(

Lelapin doesn't have the asthma component - just a nasty head and chest cold.

How's your son doing??

36. Just a thought, but it was probably compounded by the stress of the move,
and the associated hassle. Hopefully your immune system will start building back up quickly.

The bluesboy is doing great! He started physical therapy yesterday, and it went really well. Thanks for remembering him.:pals:

37. That's great about your son!
:pals: I hope his recovery is complete and swift.

I have several things working against me - exhaustion from the move, my age (and all the changes that brings) and coming back to a climate I haven't lived in for a year. Kind of my own perfect storm. Time to get even more serious about this. I see my doctor on Thursday.

I'm bored to tears, see all that needs to be done and all I want to do and have to lie down to breathe. Oh well. In time. ;)
