Woman arrested 3 times in 3 days for drunk driving
A 60-year-old Washington woman arrested for drunken driving three times in three days while vacationing in Wisconsin has been sentenced to a month in jail. The woman was arrested first at 2 p.m. March 11, 2008. A deputy saw her try to drive out of a ditch, wearing only one shoe and had a blood-alcohol level of 0.21, authorities said. The legal driving limit is .08.

Twenty-four hours later, the woman was arrested after her car got stuck in snow in a park campground that was closed for the winter. The woman told an officer she had had four or six cups of wine.

"I am still finishing up the box of wine in my car from yesterday," authorities reported she told the officer.

1. umm she has a real problem it sounds like.
Rehab anyone? I think that would be more useful than simply jail at this point.

5. Boxed wine kills!!!!
Now mind you, there was a time when I enjoyed the odd box of wine. IIRC, "Rhine" was my first choice, I can still taste it.

As much as I may have once overindulged, however, never did I pack it around in my car.

This woman's behavior *might* be an indication that she is maybe, just maybe, developing a problem in managing her drinking.

Just maybe.

9. Hey, don't knock boxed wine so hard. It keeps WAY longer than a bottle and isn't as expensive.
And if all you want is a glass on a Friday night, you can expect it to be good the next weekend. Bottled wine (especially white) starts to go weird within a few days so you feel compelled to drink it when you might not want that much. And if you're a HARD CORE drinker, or want to make pitchers of wine coolers, there's no cheaper option!

10. She needs to be incarcerated until convicted.
I don't CARE how much she drinks. I DO care that she likes to drive after she drinks. It sounds harsh but she needs to be off the road. The only way to be sure she doesn't drive is to lock her up. It will violate her rights but maybe we could expedite a trial for her? In my state three DUI's will get you 11 months & 29 days in jail.

I have no sympathy for drunk drivers, they kill more people every year than are murdered by firearms.

I don't know how to do it legally but she needs to be prevented from driving a vehicle until she has a trial.
