Movie theater to let patrons vote for "Governator"
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE, MONDAY AUGUST 11, 2003

DeMARCO CINEMAS TO ALLOW PATRONS TO VOTE FOR “GOVERNATOR”
T3: Rise Of The Machines starts Friday

CONTACT: PAUL L. SUNGENIS (856)692-2909 or (856)794-3893

Arnold Schwarzenegger may currently be the front-runner to become the Governor of California, but starting this weekend he faces an even tougher competition. At one East Coast movie theater, Schwarzenegger will be facing off against three of his gubernatorial opponents as moviegoers are given a chance to vote for “Governator.”

Paul Sungenis, the owner/operator of DeMarco Cinemas in Vineland, NJ, decided to capitalize on the former bodybuilder’s announcement of his campaign in the special California recall election to promote the arrival of Schwarzenegger’s new film "T3: Rise Of The Machines" at his theater. Starting this Friday, and continuing through September 1st, all patrons will be given a “ballot” which they will be asked to mark and drop into a box to record their vote for “Governator.” A running tally will be kept and updated, with the final results announced the weekend of September 5.

“I thought to myself, why should they have all the fun out West?” said Sungenis. “This recall election is turning out to be one of the best screwball comedies I’ve seen in years, funnier than anything up on the big screen. I wanted to let our patrons have a chance to join in the fun.”

There will be four names on the ballot for “Governator,” all of whom are actually on the recall ballot in California. In addition to Schwarzenegger, moviegoers will have a chance to vote for former "Diff’rent Strokes" child star Gary Coleman, “melon crazy” comedian Gallagher, or pornographer Larry Flynt. Ballots will be handed out, regardless of age, to anyone purchasing a ticket to any movie between the arrival of T3 and the end of Labor Day weekend. There is also no restriction on number of times a particular person can vote; a ballot will be handed out with every ticket purchased.

“Darrel Issa proved than an election can be bought,” said Sungenis, referring to the Republican Congressman who bankrolled the California recall effort with his own money. “I’m here to say that not only can this election be bought, but it must be bought! If more Schwarzenegger fans buy tickets than Hustler readers do, that could decide this election.”

The winner of the race for “Governator” will be given two VIP passes, allowing them to attend movies at the DeMarco for free if they ever come out East. The winner of the race for Governor of California will receive a continuing energy crisis, a record budget deficit, and a restless electorate who might decide that one recall is not enough.

“Now you tell me,” says Sungenis, “who gets the better deal?”

T3: Rise Of The Machines begins at the DeMarco Friday, August 15th. Movie listings and times are available by calling (856)692-5566.

2. Bustamante has one drawback in the race for Governator....
...he's serious. And would actually do a good job.

3. Barf
THis whole process is so wrong I can't even believe it.

Is T3 a dog? Does he need to promote it more? Did it do poorly in the box office? I haven't paid attention to his crap in years. Seems like an effective way to promote your movie, particularly when your career has sucked of late...
