4. Got dumped there once
at 1:00am with about 1,000 other people- The hotel rooms at the airport that were usually 256$ a night were upped to 450$ per night. We stood out in front trying to get a cab to a hotel 30 minutes away for at least an hour. We got to the hotel at 2:00am and had to be back at O'Hareball at 6:00am for the flight. Never again!

6. Place does indeed suck
I go out of my way to schedule flights that have connections anywhere but there.

Although I do kinda like the freaky Logan's Run-type tunnel between American terminals. Not enough to convince me to fly to or through O'Hare, though. x(

7. I determined that in 1985.
And if O'Hare has a fuck-up with its radar, the WHOLE DAMN COUNTRY gets fucked up!

16. Terminal 5 is terrific
Edited on Fri Apr-03-09 02:23 PM by WildEyedLiberal
Terminal 4 sucks rancid ass, though.

I flew into Terminal 4 - hated it - and flew out of Terminal 5 - loved it.

ETA: All the other London area airports are worse, though. Stansted will haunt me for the rest of my days :scared:

12. I was bringing my brother a new mast for his schooner, and they wouldn't let me check it.
Bastards.

Wouldn't even let me fly.

They droned on and on about physics and plane length and mast length blah blah fucking blah, I finally tuned them out with whatever dudes, I'm outta here, if that's how you treat customers.

And then they took my open can of gasoline, too.

I hate O'Hare.

At the risk of sounding like Tom Tancredo... Add a few goats and chickens, and Miami International Airport is EXACTLY like a 3rd world country.

18. Its much bigger than most though...
I had 15 minutes to get from one terminal to another and I KNEW it was going to be close when I saw the sign that the terminal I needed was a FIFTEEN MINUTE WALK! Needless to say I wished my carryon had wheels that day....

25. O'Hare does that for entertainment don't you know?
they do that all the time.

the other thing i notice is that flying through O'Hare on United, I'm rarely on the flight I'd booked. what'll happen is i arrive in O'Hare at 4pm for a 5pm connection, but that flight is 1 1/2 hours late, so they put me on the 3pm flight which is 2 hours late and I leave at 5pm (unless we get delayed on the runway --i mean when...). fly the friendly skies! :eyes:

28. Ever been there at night? It's like the Airport of the Damned.
My sister and I were stuck at O'Hare overnight in January '04 and it suuuuucked. No people. No vending machines. We were lucky they left the bathrooms open.
