Does anyone else dream that they can fly?
Or am I the only one so pathetic that I need to escape reality that totally?:)

1. Yes, but not for a while.
Used to dream that frequently years ago.
I took off with a very vigorous running breast-stroke.
Once I gained a little altitude, I could just soar.
It was fun.

22. I just jump in the air normally and then scoot around the room higher and higher
but using a fairly normal walking motion. This may be why I'm so pissed when I wake up and find I can't really fly; it seems so plausible in the dream.

2. Used to. Always the same: On my sidewalk. I'd take a dive, like into a pool, and then up, up, and
away!

3. Oh yeah, thanks for the PM about the shrimp.
We just got our first Publix in a nearby town about 20-30 minutes away. Been meaning to check it out.
Our current local choices are Winn-Dixie, Piggly Wiggly, and (bah humbug) Wally World.

6. Publix is really very, very good, except for the shrimp.
Then again, if they don't have Gulf Coast shrimp on the actual Gulf Coast, I think you're legally required to slap them. Winn-Dixie's still in business? They've been gone here for nearly 10 years.

Admittedly a stretch. Sorry, I have Monty Python too much on my mind at the moment.:hi:

37. Huh, so that's what they call that...
I can control my dreams sometimes, or at least show up to tell myself it's just a dream in the bad parts. Not sure if I can make myself fly, though. It might be worthwhile to try.

10. I dream that I can travel over the ground as if on a Segway - without
the Segway. I have dreamed this for years and years.

Or that I can bound for yards between steps. But not high in the air - just over the ground.

11. Funny you should ask hehe
I just woke from a cool one.

I was an enforcement officer of sorts. We began a program where humans were tattooed with the names of all dogs in their care. It was my job to fly around and connect the dogs that were strayed with their owners. The tats were only visible with special light though. I just had found out that there was an underground group that was doing interstate trades and the dogs were getting screwn.

and then... in real life I got punched by my dog because he was hungry and needed to pee.

I'd go back to sleep and see what happens next but I got stuff to do :D

:hi:

but when it didn't work s/he had to resort to the more direct approach.:hi:

14. Yes but for some reason I could only fly over beach/shoreline areas.
If I drifted too far inland I'd glide to the ground.

It's been a while since I had that in a dream but it was a recurring thing for some time.

20. yes I do
occasionally. It starts with my jumping straight up in the air and each jump is a little higher than the other until I am very high and can float very long distances or I do a little run and then jump and float for a ways.

21. I have always dreamed of flying.
I have always dreamed of flying while listening to some of my favorite music, mostly Deborah Harry's solo material. I think it would be great if I could do that, but something tells me wind sheer would keep me from being able to hear the music. I'd settle for a great flight simulator.

26. Hee--it's not escaping reality
Our consciousnesses use "flying" as a symbol for astrally projecting--when our spirits leave our bodies to be rejuvenated. We all astrally project, but when most of us remember it, it's as flying. :hi:

but it's more along the lines of me taking a step and gliding some distance before having to take another step. i'm more likely to be breathing underwater than flying in my dreams :)

31. You are not alone.
I have had sporadic periods of flying dreams, usually never get higher than the telephone wires, and for some reason there is light rain outside and I wake up feeling chilled.
A few dreams of looking down at myself in bed.
From what I have read, it is "normal"...

It's such a common dream. That and going to school naked. Yes, I've had both dreams. And so have my parents.

35. Yes. It's always more like floating.
Lately though, I've had more dreams about falling over an edge. It's terrifying, because it's a deep drop into water with no possibility of rescue.

36. Last time I had that dream was about a week ago. Problem was, I was in a plane.
And it was doing a nose-dive into the ground. Thankfully, I woke up before it crashed.

I haven't had a fun, body-flying dream, since I was a kid. I miss those dreams. They were really fun!

44. I always worried about crashing into trees.
Though my flights were pretty slow and floaty. Sometimes, I'd get extra elevation by kicking off a roof top. And then I was afraid to land in case I couldn't get back up in the air. I had one recently that was the first in a long while.

Outside of my dreamscape, I do my levitating at night as not to attract attention.;-)
