Architectural pictures of my house...

Sunday, our architect John Blanton, and his old friend Raymond Neutra (son of Richard Neutra, architect) came over to see our house. Raymond took these pictures, and I was amazed at them...

I wanted all of you to see them too...

We are so very happy...

We plan to live out our lives here! We call it our "Forever House."

We moved in seven years ago...and I'm still marveling at it.

It's like living in a work of art, truly.

I kid. Beautiful home. What year was it built? I can't quite place the era. Or was it a custom design?

I loved the exposed beams. Reminds me of the houses I spent my youth in.

We weren't thinking about carbon footprints when we built it...and yes, it's a custom design.

But I agree, it is beautiful...

It was finished in December, 2001, and we moved in in January, 2002. Seven years now...

We love the exposed beams too...

Plus, they function as part of the weight bearing. We have yet to have an earthquake that has really tested the house.

We like the walls the colors they are, actually...You do mean the inside, right?

The outside is actually a very pale yellow. Very pale...

We like our environment to be clean and tranquil...

It's very soothing to us...

And there are quite a few steps. These could not be avoided, as we are on a hill...

Our architect did the best he could to keep those at a minimum...

Absolutely beautiful, Peggy. I was sold from the very first picture, when I saw the beautiful palm tree. :)

projects in the early 1960's was the Palos Verdes High School campus (my alma mater - class of 1970). It is a beautiful, yet functional, place and I feel blessed to have gone to school there.

How I miss living in the South Bay!! (Now up the freeway inland in Ventura County - nice but no comparison!)
