Man calls 911 and asks to go to jail

TAMPA - You know that saying, "Be careful what you ask for?"

Hillsborough County deputies say David Hebel asked to go to jail.

The 20-year-old called 911 at 2:48 a.m. today, told a deputy he was drunk, that his sister kicked him out and that he wanted to go to jail to teach her a lesson, sheriff's spokeswoman Debbie Carter said.

During the 7 minute and 47 second call, Hebel kept laughing, according to an arrest report.

Guess what happened.

Hebel, of 11904 JD South Court, was booked into Orient Road Jail at 5:28 a.m. He is being held on $500 bond.

His charge: misuse of the wireless 911 system.
