Food safety question about chicken.
Got a good deal on fresh chickens a month or two ago and bought some and froze them. I took one out of the freezer Sunday and let it thaw in the fridge. I meant to cook it before now but didn't. I just put it in the oven but am wondering if I let it stay in the fridge too long. It was well wrapped and it may have taken a bit to thaw. Thoughts? It didn't stink, by the way.

1. it should be fine
tuesday or wednesday would have been best but today should be fine - just make sure you get it cooked thoroughly.

also sniff - "off" chicken is pretty easy to detect.

2. A whole chicken?
If it was whole, it may not have even finished thawing until yesterday. Mine here generally take 3 days in the fridge to no longer be chicken-sicles.

If it was thawed in the refrigerator, and hasn't gotten above 40 degrees since it was placed there Sunday, it should be just fine.
