For my 1000th post...

For as much time as I spend here at DU it took me an awfully long time to get to 1,000. Because this is a joyous occasion for me I decided I didn't want to waste the moment over in one of those awful "serious" boards, and since apparently, good citizens don't post about teabags, I thought I'd post an always delightful Hitchens vid.

He may be my favorite pompous ass.

1. He makes a point, though I don’t think it is wholly accurate.

His belief that men are funnier than women is based on the theory of sexual selection. For such a pompous ass, he thinks in very base terms. Good 1,000th post though.

Most men are not fantastically unattractive. I am not so sure he actually likes or has respect for women, but he wants to get laid. The pompous thing is such a turn-off, really, he had better be funny and generous. That kitty avatar you have cracks me up every time I see it!

That certainly helped in initial contacts with the opposite sex.
But I did work (somewhat successfully) at being funny and even witty to get closer to a woman.
