I had an odd day yesterday.
But I learned at least two things.

First of all, if you know there's a worn spot on your pants, always have an extra pair. Just in case.

Second of all, if you're explaining to your boss why you need to take a long lunch to go buy a new pair of pants and you start a sentance with the phrase, "Well I asked Patti to check out my ass..." it really doesn't matter what you say after that. He'll be too busy laughing to hear it.

Also... I think I'm going to write a letter to a few clothing companies. They obviously overlooked a major facet of men's pants. Most namely that these pants are supposed to be worn by males of the species homo sapiens. Now, unlike the females of the species, the males have EXTERNAL genitalia. So obviously the first several pairs of pants that I tried on were not tailored for males of the species homo sapiens.

I almost suspect that with the whole 'boy cut pants for women' thing that's been popular lately, they had extras and said, "Screw it. We'll label them as men's pants and ship them out." Because these would have even made a Ken doll™ more than a bit uncomfortable.

3. I've been threatening to.
The dress code at work doesn't forbid kilts. An oversight on their part.

6. Men in kilts. Yum. Even better: Rock singer from Scotland in a kilt.

2. How can this be answered?
Buy extra roomy girls pants?

4. Well, I found one pair of men's pants that actually seemed to be tailored towards men.
And another pair that was a size too big and 'loose fit', although even that was a bit tighter on that one area than I'd like.

And honestly, I'm fairly certain that I'm not overly endowed in that area.

5. Of course, to be certain,
you'll have to make yourself available for inspection. :7

8. You have to wonder about some clothing designers.
They design their pants with a high crotch so you're guaranteed to be talking in a higher tone when you wear the damned things. Who in their right mind buys or wears those anyway? You would think that low sales would deliver a message.

When I find a brand of pants that are well tailored I buy a half-dozen. You never know if they'll change the style again by the next time I go shopping for pants, so it's best to just get a bunch at once.

10. Yeah, I try to do that
but money is sometimes a problem.

And in this case, the one pair that fit properly were, of course, the most expensive ones there. :banghead:

Normally just because I have a bit more muscle in my legs than most people with my waistline I have to buy baggy type pants like carpenter or cargo pants. But I needed regular khakis.

11. Heh... I asked her because she was the least likely to steal a peek.
Okay, well maybe the one other guy working there that day wouldn't have stolen a peak either. But that would have been a bit more awkard, IMO. :)

15. Its always been a pain in the ass (figuratively, not literally) for me
just because I have leg muscle. And most pants don't account for that. So half the time I end up having to go a size up just to fit my upper legs. But this time it was just ridiculous.

16. I'm a short dude...
and most pants/jeans in the men's section aren't meant for short dudes. I wear a 30 x 30, and the length goes past my shoes. x(

17. Yeah, my mom's side of the family are all very short
and most of the men on that side have to hem their pants no matter what size they get.

Thankfully my brother and I got a mix of the short genes from that side and the bigger genes from my dad's side. :P

20. If you need more crotch room, buy extra tall pants and have them hemmed.
The extra tall sizes tend to have longer strides. PSA #781 :)
