My cat just bit me
Ya know, it was one of those kind of days.

It didn't do much for my insomnia either.

1. My "snarly butt" used to bit my toes at night. He thought it was amusing, I found it irritating.
It hurt! I keep my feet covered now. Little snot.

2. I have insomnia now too.
It's really really disconcerting to bounce back and forth between sleeping 24 hours/awake 6 and then sleep 4 hours/awake 72. :wtf:

I haven't been bitten my any of the beasts though. They're grumpy sharing space with the dogs for the weekend, but not quite that grumpy.

I'm sorry you got bit. I hope it isn't serious, and I hope you and your cat are both okay.

12. It didn't puncture my skin, thank God
Bear has the unusual ability to get me every once in a long while right between my thumb and index finger. I believe it is the very same area where people sometimes tell you to press if you want to get rid of a headache. It hurts like hell. I was making progress with his biting, throughout the years, by tapping him on the nose immediately after (very lightly) and saying "Bad cat!" But my husband thinks the biting is cute & never disciplines Bear... so it has started again. :-( That cat will never be tame... but that's part of his charm. lol

Anyway, we are all ok. Thanks - and thanks everyone else - for the advice and concern!

3. Watch that bite. Cats mouthes are terribly dirty. You could get a bad infection.

7. Ditto.
If he chomped you hard and you have deep puncture wounds, soak the injury in hot water and use a lot of hydrogen peroxide. And then watch it closely and call a doctor ASAP if it starts to look infected. I got an infected cat bite once and ended up needing a course of antibiotics. Took about a week to clear up.

9. Me too. A deep cat bite cause a big infection. Doctors say cat bites are worse than dog
bites as infection goes.

6. LOL
Sorry, Mark, but LOL

Reminds me of a story Mrs. V. tells, of a relative who was in the outhouse one day, and she shot out, screaming "THE SHIT SNAKE BIT ME! THE SHIT SNAKE BIT ME!" Turns out she'd been stung in the ass by a wasp.

8. I have also been stung by a wasp. Depending on the size of the
snake, the reptile might be the better choice.
BV, If the day comes I can't laugh at myself, I'll always have someone here to do it for me.
I mean that in a good way, of course.

10. yes, be careful
A huge percentage of cat bites become infected enough to need a doctor's care and mega antibiotics. Sometimes IV antibiotics. If you see any red streaks, or if you see swelling and redness, see a doctor ASAP.

11. Too true. It's more likely to become infected if the bit
is from an "outdoor" cat. I was bitten by my "outdoor" cat one evening and had red streaks by the time I woke the next morning. On the other hand, I now have an indoor cat and her bites a merely painful and infuriating!
