1. I think I'll just stick to XP
Until there's a compelling reason to change.

5. Same here...
...I skipped Windows ME and went straight from 98 to XP. For my money, XP...despite the fact that it's got its issues...is a better product than 98. After reading the reviews for Vista and its classification as an "eye candy update," it's clear that greed...not need...still drives the House That Bill Built.

2. It took me six years to upgrade to XP
Been using XP for about two years and I'm still not fond of it. I've mostly disabled all the intrusive stuff. I only upgraded because too many programs wouldn't work properly unless my OS was XP. Windows 7 looks intriguing but I doubt I'll upgrade until I am forced.

That doesn't mean I can't make my machine look like I've got Win 7 installed:

3. Not nearly as bad as the pricing for Vista was.
Get the OEM versions though (and you can do so through places like Tiger Direct and Newegg) for like 1/2 the cost.

6. True...
on both counts. My next license will likely be OEM.

That way I can downgrade to XP 64-bit if I wanted...

7. And I'll just stick to Leopard...
Haven't looked back since going w/Tiger. One family pack for 5 people is cheaper than one license for one Windoze version with LIMITED times of being able to use it (without MS's permission, that is).

8. $300 for the Pro version
Countless thousands to repair it.

9. MS can go screw themselves.
At those prices, I think I'll just wait to get it pre-installed in a new PC. But if it has the same issues Vista has had with backward compatibility for games, then I'll just stick to my XP computer.
