I need some info here, pleeeeeeeease!!

I am taking an international flight and have a very comfortable pair of slip on shoes with steel shanks. What kind of hassle will I encounter with security? Thanks for any help. :)

1. They probably won't allow it ...

I've flight domestic and had to take my shoes off to be checked. Avoid the hassle and leave 'em home or pack them in your luggage.

no problem.. But do take them off while in flight..Let those little piggies breathe.. and drink lots of water.. do not cross your legs.. get up occasionally and move around..

I know.. nag nag nag.. We don't want you getting a blood clot :)

That way, you won't set the machine off.

But, last time I traveled ALL passengers had to remove their shoes prior to going through the metal detector.

But, it pays to be up front anyway. Let them know the shoes have metal shanks; let them scan them, and be on your way!

Edited subject line for sexist remark. The security person could have been a woman. I used security guy originally. :spank:

Sorry.... just kidding.

I imagine you'll have to remove your shoes , they will check them for hidden bombs and machine guns and if they don't find any, they will return your shoes and you'll be on your way.
