America's Team, Baby!
"The NFL released its complete 2009 regular-season schedule Tuesday. The always-popular Cowboys lead all teams with six scheduled nationally televised games, even without Terrell Owens."

We can't win playoffs, can't win our division, choke away insurmountable leads in the final quarter, get our asses kicked 44-6 in a must-win game against a divisional rival, retain the worst offensive coaching staff in the NFL and fire our best player to try to improve it, have a head coach who looks more like an advertising icon for a easy-bake cookies than an NFL manager, and underachieve and disappoint year after year after year.

And everyone talks more about us than whomever won the Super Bowl last year.

America's Team, Baby! Bring the hate, it's just more love! Oh, and

1. The American football equivalent of the Yankees.
We'll all tune in to watch them get stomped. By anyone.

Laugh at every sack. The more violent, the better.

20. The Yankees have 26 championships.
They are the greatest team in the history of sports. Sorry to burst your bubble.

26. If that's your criteria, then FC Barcelona is probably the greatest team in the history
of sports.

I think by that standard, they are clearly the best ever.

25. That glorification of violence is one of the reasons
I don't really care for the game anymore. That and the incessant commercials. Ugh.

But yeah... even without that... the constant glorification of brutality turns me off.

3. Like I told my daughter...
It's easy to be a fan when your team is always winning.

The real fans are still there when they suck (sorta like the 'Boys do these days).

A new owner, new head coach and new QB and this team will be ready for anything!

5. I watched or listened to every game of the 1-15 season, so I know what you mean.
Not sure about the owner, and Philips is such a great defensive coach I can almost tolerate him, unless he's the one calling the offensive plays.

Whoever it was who decided to run a third string rookie running back starting his second NFL game ever into the center of the top ranked run defense in the league in a must win game when we were up by two scores with under eight minutes to go, rather than relying on the most talented receiving corp in the NFL, should be fired. Philips, Garret, Jones, or Donovan McNabb's Mom from the soup commercials, they should not be on the team if they were part of that decision.

That's all.

6. Yeah, that's a point.
I still can't decide whether to be more shocked that they fell apart that quickly after getting to the Super Bowl, or that they went to the Super Bowl in the first place.

40. Aren't they opening up a brand new, $1,000,000,000 stadium this year?
Those first two national TV appearances can be attributed to that, I think... And then there's the Thanksgiving Day game, which is more tradition than anything... And then, one of those games is a Saturday night game in December, and there are usually only a couple of those in December anyway so they're almost exclusively national TV anyways...

Still, I'll be taking in a Cowboys game this year. Gonna see them probably beat my Broncos in the first weekend of October.
