HERE IS A RESPONSE TO A MESSAGE I GOT FROM THE SHOOTING CLUB IN MY EMAIL. MY RESPONSE COMES FIRST. THE RW RANT COMES AFTER THAT.


I have to respond to this. I really like SCSA and its facilities. I enjoy the rifle range and the archery facilities especially. Now that my sinus surgery is done, I can look forward to some work parties. I folks I have met there are warm and considerate.

You should not assume all your members are Republicas or that most of them buy into the kind of crazy, ultra-right wing view that is represented in this e-mail I certainly am glad to hear about gun rights legislation and efforts to limit our rights to be armed. That does NOT mean I agree with conservative economic philosophy. And since it has nothing to do with shooting, gun rights or anything related to shooting sports (except for a brief mention at the end) I have to wonder why SCSA is sending it to me.

Frankly, I think the writer of this note is flat out wrong about the economy, what it needs to recover, its cause or the long term implications for the nation. The Recovery Act, for example was less than 1% of GDP. My biggest concern is that $750 billion is not enough to get a country as huge as this one moving again. Economies don't just happen. Capitalism requires the active support and regulation of the government to function on anything more than pre-industrial levels. Congressional Republicans know this and are always happy to obtain subsidies for industries in their districts. For the record, unless you make $200,000 or more per annum, you received a tax cut. And protesting that the rich have not been treated fairly when for 8 years they got a free ride is kind of a short-sighted thing to do.

The remarks about Soros (doesn't he run an insurance company?) have no sources cited. That and the fact that there is a reference to sexual perversion tells me that it is all a lie. (The formula for discrediting a person always includes the claim of sexual perversion.) Even if Soros was some kind of monster, how could he possibly be able (financially) to do the thinks claimed in this note?

I'm not even going to mention the rant against other specific people mentioned since they are just gutteral reactions anyway.

As far as expressions concerning "we" and "ours" and "the enemy," let me remind you of the copious amount of blue on the last electoral map. "We" want change. And let me make something else perfectly clear. America is my country. My ancestors were part of the founding generation. My ancestor Stephen Hopkins signed the Mayflower Compact and was one of the first two Anglos to make contact with the Indians. Another Stephen Hopkins signed the Declaration of Independance as a delagate from Rhode Island. I myself grew up in my family's ancestral state of Massachusetts. Any man who raises his hand or incites rebellion against the lawfully elected United States government is a traitor. The last thing anyone around here will see is my muzzle flash if he joins in that treason. Just saying. Ohio fought for the Union in the last rebellion and will do so again if necessary. I seem to recall that blow-hard Hannity saying that opposition to the commander in chief during wartime only gives comfort to the enemy. Well, I would never go that far, but you might want to reflect on the double standard here.

I have to say I take personal offense at the term "crybaby." The writer knows nothing about me. If he endured what I have had to endure, I doubt he would have come out as well. It is not the liberals who are outside protesting right now over essentially nothing. Bush wins and it is an electoral mandate (of 47%). Obama wins states that have not gone blue for decades and suddenly he is a tyrant. We are not the crybabies. Sorry, I don't mean to rub it in, but the winner of the election sets the policy. (What I was told by addict Limbaugh in 2001 was "we won, you lost, shut up." I don't expect anyone to shut up.)

In point of fact, I prosecute major felonies in the Ohio Court of Appeals. Not exactly hippy work and not something a wimp can handle. How many victims of horrible, horrible crimes do I have to see and still stay sane? Well, I have not hit that mark yet, but someday I will. The point is, neither you or the writer of this note are in any position to call me or any liberal American a crybaby. I have a gun because there are men in prison who want me dead. How about you? So I have a pretty good motivation to value the 2nd Amendment.

I bought foam filled poster board (you can use both sides and it holds up in wind) from Pat Catan’s for about $2.50. Office Max has it but at twice the price. Then get a Sharpie MAGNUM for a couple bucks and go to it.

My own sign ideas are these...some are a bit crude so you can make the point and soften them up as needed.

Many people, maybe even most conservatives, do not know what really precipitated the meltdown and the subsequent first bailout. It was not Fannie Mae / Freddie Mac although it did contribute.

Here are the facts...our signs need to address this and those responsible...besides all the other issues...

On Sept. 15, 2008 at 11AM someone began the withdrawal of large amounts from US Money Market accounts.

By 11:30 $550 billion dollars (Yes really) had been withdrawn and the US Treasury began to try and stem the tide by dumping about $103 billion dollars back into the market.

At 11:45 the Treasury realized they could not offset what was happening so the market was shut down. This is why McCain shut his campaign down that day and flew to Washington .

If counter action had not been taken then by 2PM at least $2.5 TRILLION dollars would have been removed forcing the immediate collapse of the entire US economy and within 24 hours the entire World economy.

This action is the reason George Bush did the first bailout. The second one by Obama is a fear tactic. It is not necessary except to radically shift the balance of power from the private sector to the government.

Last week sorry George Soros declared this meltdown is the culmination of his life’s work.

This was designed, engineered, and executed by Sorry Soros to which he just declared the financial meltdown is the culmination of his life's work.

He melted down Britain 's economy and was expelled, he melted down Russia 's economy and was expelled, he is a convicted criminal in France , and China has officially declared he is not allowed to set foot on their soil.

Sorry Soros’ goal is the implementation of his "Open Society" concept in the USA which is a take off on NAZI Germany. (Do a search on “Open Society Institute”)

Capitalism is his enemy because it will prevent this so it must be destroyed. I think he just wants to maintain a fresh supply of women for his use.

His five sons carry out his diabolical plan. Obama is just his bought and paid for puppet. Obama gets all his orders from sorry Soros.

Our economy will fix itself if nothing is done but the perception of a catastrophe gives sorry Soros justification to rape our economy under the guise of fixing it with the "Stimulus."

We can definitely say history is repeating itself except our enemies have now infiltrated our government and taken power.

Stopping this is going to take lots more than Tea Parties.

One good place to start is re-educating the minds of the products of our liberal schools by engaging them in conversation in the normal course of our daily lives as to what wealth is and where it comes from.

Our enemies have infiltrated and taken over the Federal Government. Sorry Soros paid for Obama and they are ENEMY COMBATANTS.

and remind him that people speaking about extraordinary things better be able to footnote it - at the primary source! (that means nothing secondhand, like a link to Rush or Hannity or freerepublic) - or else they're the ignorant shitbags that everyone thinks they are.

Make him document every claim. Hammer him on this publicly until he does.

If anyone has said the ridiculously stupid things they are supposed to have said, there will be transcripts and other proof on the Internet.

I'm sure no one said them, so the proof won't be found.

But he needs to be publicly humiliated in front of all his friends for spreading bullshit.


I would also cut down your response - there's no reason to argue at this point. To argue gives him a sort of tacit foundation to stand on - make him prove the shit first.

Or, if you wish to argue, back up every argument with a link to a transcript or other FACT based document.
